WB Overview


The Nippa Legacy revolves around our legendary Wood Burning (WB) sauna stoves. When these stoves were originally developed by Leo Nippa in 1930 he incorporated what at the time was two innovative techniques. The first being a rolled firebox, preventing the ever so common warping of fireboxes still prevalent in other sauna stoves even to this day. The second being a baffle system that resulted in shorter heat up times and a cleaner burn. Though the stove has been upgraded over the years making each version stronger and innovative than the previous. These two key components are still used in how Nippa Wood Burning Sauna Stoves are made today.

WB-12 up to 275 Cubic feet

WB-15 up to 400 Cubic feet

WB-18 up to 500 Cubic feet

WB-21 up to 775 Cubic feet

WB-24 up to 1000 Cubic feet


* Recommendations based on stove heating an insulated sauna to 220 degrees in  60 - 90min depending on exterior temp. 
** Stoves have been used in larger hot rooms than recommended however heating may increase by up to 50%. 
 External Feed Stoves Lose 20% efficiency. To calculate correct heater size take (L x W x H) x .8
